U.S. Midwest to see relief from rare May snowstorm

Residents in the American Midwest will finally see some relief from a rare May snowstorm.

In an unusual event, some areas were dumped with up to 45 centimetres of snow over Wednesday and Thursday shattering records. Denver’s airport reported about 50 flight cancellations on Wednesday. Sioux Falls, South Dakota had their first May snowfall in 37 years.

Temperatures are once again on the rise, though as much as 5 to 10 millimetres of rain is predicted in some parts.
