UPDATE: Four charged in Regina SWAT bust, drug investigation

Regina’s SWAT team was deployed Thursday evening to the area of the 300 block of McIntyre Street and the 1300 block of Athol Street as part of an on-going investigation.

Regina police‘s drug unit carried out two “high-risk” search warrants at the properties and four people are facing charges.

As a result of the 300 block McIntyre Street investigation Tommy Donovan Dykes, 39, and Rita Lynn MohrButter, 30, are charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking and proceeds of crime under $5,000.

Dykes has also been charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and three counts of breaching a weapons probation order.

At the 1300 Athol Street bust, Devon Sean Ponace, 31, and Sydney Kathleen Carter, 28, are charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and proceeds of crime under $5,000.

All four accused are from Regina. They all made their first court appearance Friday morning in Regina Provincial Court.

The team aimed to carry out two high-risk search warrants and they said they did so without incident.
