Major traffic headache coming to Circle Drive lanes

SASKATOON – Motorists beware – a month long traffic project on Circle Drive is scheduled to begin on Monday in Saskatoon.

Eastbound and westbound median lanes on Circle Drive between Millar Avenue and the Circle Drive North bridge will close overnight.

Between 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. crews will commence phase one of the project and prepare for reconstruction of Circle Drive eastbound lanes.

Crews will then switch over to 24/7 duty for phase two which is expected to start on May 9.

This phase will close eastbound Circle Drive traffic between Millar Avenue and the bridge. Single lane traffic will be accommodated in the westbound lanes of Circle Drive.

All restrictions are expected to be lifted by May 31.

If possible, drivers should avoid the area and use alternate routes and bridges.

Semi trucks and wide-loads will not be accommodated on this section of Circle Drive or Idylwyld Drive. Drivers can 306-657-8522 or 306-975-2640 for a route through Saskatoon.

The city of Saskatoon is asking drivers to allow extra time when travelling through the orange zone, watch for pedestrians and work crews and obey all detours, signs and barriers.
