A man and woman escaped a small plane crash Thursday with minor injuries.

RCMP say an ultra-light aircraft went down along side Stead Road in the RM of St. Clements north of Winnipeg just after 2 p.m. Thursday.

According to the Canadian Civil Aircraft Registry, the two-seat Reis Azuro was manufactured in 1995, and is registered to John Keindel of Pakenham, Ontario.

A YouTube video posted in 2010 shows the aircraft for sale, able to be equipped with floats, skis or wheels for landing. Images of the crash provided by the RCMP show the aircraft equipped with skis, allowing it to land on snow rather than a paved runway.

The male pilot and female passenger were the only people on board. No word yet what caused the crash.
