On Jan. 18, 2012, numerous popular websites including Wikipedia, Craigslist and Reddit went dark in protest. The websites are protesting the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the U.S. House and the Protect Intellectual Property Act (PIPA) under consideration in the U.S. Senate.
