John Abbott College raises over $20k for students in financial crisis

The John Abbott College campus, on Montreal’s West Island, was lined with cash Tuesday.

It’s part of a fundraising effort to support the student assistance fund, which helps students in times of financial crisis.

Both $1 and $2 coins were stuck to two-sided tape running the length of the college — almost 700 feet long.

In all, the event raised $20,918.

Dozens of volunteers spent the day promoting the annual event, which has become a staple of the college since it started in 2003.
