He was scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 31, 2014, but never appeared in court.

The Crown had argued for Nkem to be taken into custody when he was convicted, but the judge ruled against it.

A bench warrant was issued for his arrest after he failed to appear. Nkem is currently wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

Police said a number of tips have come in since then from across the country regarding Nkem’s whereabouts.

Investigators with the sex crimes unit have followed up those tips in a number of provinces as well as Africa, but have failed to locate him.
