A speeder on the Perimeter Highway early Wednesday morning is facing a whopping fine.
RCMP said the driver was caught going 171 km/h by an umarked police car just after midnight.
That earned the 24-year-old a $979 speeding ticket.

A subsequent breath test led to an alcohol warning, and the driver was also slapped with a 72-hour licence suspension, as well as a review with Manitoba Public Insurance.
