OTTAWA – Sasha Chmelevski scored five goals as the Ottawa 67’s defeated the North Bay Battalion 6-3 in Ontario Hockey League action Monday.
Chmelevski reached 29 goals on the season and eclipsed the 200-point mark for his OHL career. The native of Northville, Mich., now has 203 points (96 goals, 107 assists) in 206 career games with Sarnia and Ottawa.
Tye Felhaber scored the 67’s other goal, which turned out to be the game-winner. Sam Bitten added three assists.
Luke Moncada scored short-handed for North Bay, while Brandon Coe and Harrison Caines had the other goals for the Battalion.
Michael DiPietro picked up the win despite being beaten three times on just 11 shots.
Christian Propp stopped 34 shots for North Bay.
The league-leading 67’s improved to 44-9-5 on the season and increased their point streak to 15 games (14-0-1). Ottawa leads Niagara by 18 points atop the Eastern Conference standings.
North Bay (25-26-5) remained in seventh place in the East.
The 67’s were held off the scoresheet on all three of their power-play chances, while the Battalion did not get a chance with the man advantage.

GUELPH, Ont. — Dmitri Samorukov scored in overtime to lead the Storm over Flint.
Isaac Ratcliffe, Cedric Ralph, Liam Hawel and Domenico Commisso also scored as fourth-place Guelph (30-16-10) continued to close in on an Western Conference playoff spot.
Cody Morgan had a hat trick for Flint (11-43-5) while Eric Uba also scored.
BULLDOGS 7 COLTS 5
HAMILTON — Isaac Nurse and Arthur Kaliyev each had two goals and an assist to lead the Bulldogs over Barrie.
Jan Jenik had a goal and two assists while Jake Gravelle and Liam Van Loon also scored for Hamilton (27-26-5), currently sixth in the Eastern Conference. Avery hayes added three assists.
Ben Hawerchuk scored twice and added an assist for Barrie (23-29-4), while Ryan Suzuki had a goal and two assists. Tyler Tucker and Jack York also scored.
RANGERS 3 FRONTENACS 2
KINGSTON, Ont. — Joseph Garreffa scored the game-winning goals and added an assist to lead Kitchener over the Frontenacs.
Jonathan Yantsis and Donovan Sebrango also scored for the Rangers (27-25-4), in the playoff hunt at sixth in the Western Conference.
Nick Wong and Tyler Burnie scored for Kingston (12-44-2).
STEELHEADS 9 KNIGHTS 4
MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Aidan Prueter scored twice to lead the Steelheads to a rout of London.
Keean Washkurak, Cole Schwindt, Nick Isaacson, Cole Carter and Alan Lyszczarczyk each had a goal and an assist for Mississauga (29-21-7), fifth in the East and 6-0-1 over its last seven games. Nick McHugh and Duncan Penman also scored.
London’s Kevin Hancock scored the game’s first two goals before the Steelheads answered with four straight goals and took control of the game. Connor McMichael and Liam Foudy also scored for the Western Conference-leading Knights (39-10-7).
GENERALS 3 WOLVES 2 (OT)
OSHAWA, Ont. — Nando Eggenberger scored the shootout winner to lead the Generals over Sudbury.
Eggenberger also scored in regulation for playoff-bound Oshawa (37-18-3), which improved to 9-0-1 over its last 10 games and moved three points up on Sudbury for third spot in the East. Brett Neumann also scored.
Darian Pilon and Quinton Byfield scored for Sudbury (35-17-4), which is 8-1-1 over its last 10.
ICEDOGS 5 PETES 2
PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — Philip Tomasino scored two goals, including the game-winner, as Niagara defeated the Petes.
Ben Jones, Jason Robertson and Daniel Bukac had the other goals for Niagara (34-15-7).
Cameron Butler and Brady Hinz scored for the Petes (25-28-3), who are just three points up on Barrie for eighth spot in the East.
STING 7 SPIRIT 6
SARNIA, Ont. — Franco Sproviero scored twice in regulation and again in the shootout and Sean Josling had a goal and three assists to lead the Sting over Saginaw.
Ryan McGregor had a goal and two assists while Hugo Leufvenius and Ashton Reesor had the other regulation goals for Sarnia (24-27-7), who remained a point ahead of Windsor for seventh spot in the West. Jacob Perreault had the shootout winner.
Cole Perfetti had a goal and two assists for the Spirit (36-15-5), who are third in the conference and have locked up a playoff spot. Brady Gilmour, Justin Murray, Blade Jenkins, Jake Goldowski and Reagan O’Grady also scored.
SPITFIRES 2 ATTACK 1
WINDSOR, Ont. — Nathan Staios scored with less than two minutes remaining to lead the Spitfires over Owen Sound.
Chris Playfair also scored for Windsor (24-28-6).
Sergey Popov had the lone goal for the Attack (27-25-5), who are just one point up on Kitchener for fifth spot in the West.
