The tweet on Feb. 16 said the 19-year-old driver initially failed to stop for them the night before but officers caught up with him later on.

Police said he was clocked travelling 212 km/h in the 90 km/h zone on Circle Drive near Lorne Avenue.

SPS said he was fined $1,602 for the speed and given a date with a judge for failing to stop for police. Police said his car was impounded as well.
