It’s a day off for most Ontarians on Monday as we celebrate Family Day, the first long weekend of the year.

Provincial and City of Hamilton government offices are closed, as are the LCBO, Beer Stores, banks and most grocery stores and shopping malls.

There is no waste collection, meaning garbage pickup will be a day later.

The HSR is operating on a Sunday/holiday schedule and DARTS is running on holiday service hours, while Go Transit is on a Saturday service schedule.

The only Hamilton Public Library branches that are open on Monday are Central, Turner Park, Freelton and Lynden, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
