VAL-D’OR, Que. – David Noel scored the go-ahead goal at 11:13 of the third period while on the power play as the Val-d’Or Foreurs upset the Rimouski Oceanic 2-1 on Wednesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Jonathan Lemieux turned aside 29 shots while Peyton Hoyt also scored for the Foreurs (19-31-5).

Cedric Pare found the back of the net for the Oceanic (36-15-3), who had their win streak snapped at 11 games.

Colten Ellis made 19 saves for Rimouski.

The Foreurs went 1 for 6 on the power play while not giving the Oceanic any chances with the man advantage.

CHARLOTTETOWN — Matthew Welsh made 35 saves and Kevin Gursoy potted a hat trick as the Islanders blanked Saint John to snap a four-game skid.

Liam Peyton, Hunter Drew and Sullivan Sparkes also scored for Charlottetown (30-17-6).

Mikhail Denisov turned aside 31 shots for the Sea Dogs (12-39-4), who have just one win in their last 10 contests.

DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. — Maxime Comtois had three goals and an assist and Nicolas Guay added a goal and three helpers as the Voltigeurs toppled Sherbrooke to improve to 6-0-1 in their last seven outings.

Brandon Skubel, Pierre-Olivier Joseph, Gregor MacLeod and Pavel Koltygin also scored for Drummondville (41-10-2). Olivier Rodrigue kicked out 22 shots the victory.

Nathael Roy replied for Sherbrooke (31-21-2), which had its four-game win streak halted. Dakota Lund-Cornish gave up five goals on 15 shots in 29 minutes of action for the loss.

BAIE-COMEAU, Que. — Felix Pare scored twice and Anthony Poulin tacked on three helpers as Victoriaville doubled up the Drakkar.

Mikhail Abramov and Samy Pare also scored for the Tigres (23-28-4), who got 32 saves from Tristan Cote-Cazenave to improve to 4-0-1 in their last five.

Yaroslav Alexeyev netted both goals for Baie-Comeau (38-13-3). Lucas Fitzpatrick combined with Alex D’Orio for 13 saves in a losing effort.
