Vehicle owners in the Calgary neighbourhood of Pineridge are now sorting through insurance claims after a stolen car struck a number of vehicles Thursday morning.
Calgary police first received a call about the incident at around 11 a.m. Officials confirmed that the situation was still ongoing as of Thursday evening.
Will Gradisher, who captured the incident on his security camera, said he had just got his car on the road for winter when it was struck by the stolen vehicle.
“It is frustrating but there’s nothing you can do about it,” Gradisher said.
Travis LaRocke, who lives across from Gradisher and also captured the incident on camera, said he heard a loud bang around the time when police first received a report of the incident.
“It was so quick, 10 seconds, the guy had crashed then backed up and left,” LaRocke said.
“I thought about whether [the driver] meant to do it, whether it was an accident or whether he’s now making the biggest mistake of his life.”
Police only received reports of three vehicles being damaged in this hit-and-run case as of Thursday evening.
Gradisher said he is happy no one was inside any of the vehicles when they were hit.
Authorities said it was too early to say how the car was stolen.
