White Rock council will decide Monday night whether dogs will be permitted on the promenade in off-peak months.

The issue has divided much of the community that uses the seawall.

Mayor Darryl Walker says it’s “hard to tell how the vote will go.”

He said he’s not showing his hand in advance of the meeting how he’ll be voting on Feb. 11.

“I think it’s up to me and the councillors to do this in front of our public and in front of a council meeting. There are still a number of things up in the air. We still have some questions to ask and put to ourselves so we’re working through it.”
