Missing woman who left house without jacket, boots has been found safe

UPDATE: Nelson House RCMP said Wednesday afternoon that Spence has been found safe.

RCMP in Nelson House are searching for a missing woman in the extreme cold.

Police and community members have been doing extensive foot, vehicle and snowmobile patrols to help find Magen Spence, 26, who hasn’t been seen since leaving her home around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Spence is described as 5’4″, 207 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a sweater with red, black, and white on it.

Police said Spence wasn’t wearing a jacket or boots, and they’re very concerned about her well-being.

Enivronment Canada said northern Manitoba was under an extreme cold warning Wednesday, with windchill values dipping below -55C.
