Kitchener, Cambridge, Waterloo declare snow events, parking ban begins at midnight

With the region still digging out from a weekend snowfall and more expected, Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo have declared snow events.

This means that parking will not be allowed on any street in Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo beginning on Monday night at 11:59 p.m. for a 24-hour period.

If a car is parked on a city street, the owner could get an $80 fine and the car may also be towed at the owner’s expense.

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning of up to 15 cm for the Waterloo Region and Wellington County.

The City says it declares snow events to help staff get the streets cleared of snow.
