One of the heroes of the Calgary Stampeders’ 2018 Grey Cup win is staying with the CFL team.

Terry Williams, who returned a punt 97 yards for a touchdown in the Stamps’ Grey Cup victory over the Ottawa Redblacks, re-signed with the team on Friday.

The native of Morristown, N.J., tied a Stamps single-season record last year by returning three punts for touchdowns.

“I’m excited to be back,” said the running back/returner, who joined the Stamps in 2017. “Calgary was the first team that believed in me and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else, especially after winning the Grey Cup last year.”

Meanwhile, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers have re-signed Canadian linebacker Shayne Gauthier to a two-year deal.
