History

Edmonton-Mill Woods is considered a swing riding that has gone to the PCs, NDP and Liberals various times since 1979. The PC party had held the seat since 2008, until it was won by the NDP in the 2015 election.

Gray was part of the 2015 orange crush, which saw the Alberta NDP stomp out a 44-year Progressive Conservative dynasty in the province.

PC MLA Sohail Quadri held the seat prior to Gray’s election in 2015.
