RCMP announce winners of their puppy naming contest

Innisfail, AB – RCMP have announced the names of ten new puppies at their training centre in Central Alberta.

RCMP hold a contest each year to name the new dogs who begin training at the centre.

This year, all names all had to start with the letter “F.”

The winning names are: Frazer, Faro, Flixx, Felix, Force, Freya, Fantom, Finn, Francis and Flint.

Each of the winners will get a certificate with a photo of the puppy they named and a plush dog toy.

The dogs will be trained to track and apprehend criminals, remove illicit drugs from the streets, and search for people.

Eighty-five percent of the German Shepherds working as RCMP Service Dogs were born at the Centre as part of the RCMP Police Dog Breeding Program.
