UPDATE: RCMP arrest suspect of double stabbing in Chilliwack

One person is in custody after two people were stabbed in Chilliwack late Thursday night.

The stabbing happened around 11:45 p.m. in a small townhouse complex in the 45300-block of Hodgins Avenue, RCMP confirmed.

Emergency crews found two victims suffering from stab wounds when they arrived at the scene.

One was taken to Chilliwack General Hospital and the other was rushed to Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, both in non-life-threatening condition.

RCMP said Friday that they had arrested a 40-year-old man from the Ridge Meadows area after a tip that the suspect was in the Jones Lake area.

Investigators are still gathering evidence, but believe the stabbings were targeted.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
