Police say they were called at 8:20 a.m. Thursday to a residence on East River East Side Road in Churchville, N.S.

It was reported that three men in a grey four-door pickup truck had fired a long gun at the residence while they drove past it.

In a series of tweets, RCMP asked the public to avoid the area, and not to reveal the exact locations of their officers on social media.

At 2:30 p.m., a 25-year-old man was arrested in relation to the incident.

Police continue their efforts to locate the two other men who were involved. The RCMP is aware of the identities of these two men,” RCMP said in a news release.

Police say the three people inside the home were not injured. They also say the shooting is not believed to be a random act and there was no risk to public safety.
