An emergency response team (ERT) was called to deal with a standoff in rural Maple Ridge on New Year’s Day.
Officers surrounded a home in the 12900-block of 246 Street on Tuesday morning after RCMP received a call about a man who allegedly had a weapon and was threatening to harm himself and police.
The ERT and a crisis negotiator arrived at the property around 1 p.m. and the man was arrested around 4:30 p.m. without further incident.
After being medically cleared, the 31-year-old man was transported to Ridge Meadows RCMP.
RCMP said a charge of uttering threats is pending.
