It started as a secret before becoming known globally. Now the so-called HemLoft is up for sale.
The egg-shaped tree house was built by carpenter Joel Allen in the woods above Whistler village four years ago.
Now Allen is married, and with a child on the way, they’ve relocated to the Okanagan.
So the HemLoft is being put up for sale on Craigslist – one piece at a time — where Allen found most of the materials in the beginning.
The ad reads, “A mysterious structure that is hanging from a hemlock tree will soon be removed and up for grabs. If you’d like to enquire, send me a reply and I can pass along more info.”
Last year, Global BC reporter Anne Drewa was given a tour of the loft. Watch her story here.
