A Kingston man has been charged after allegedly driving his vehicle into the front of two Amherstview homes.
On Dec. 12, OPP responded to a collision on Kildare Avenue.
Police say the van was travelling eastbound when it left the road, drove through one house and came to rest against a neighbouring house.
According to police, there were no injuries.
The driver of the van, Christian Nielissen, a 42-year-old male from Kingston, was charged with careless driving.
On Thursday, Dec. 13, the OPP were once again in the same neighbourhood after another vehicle left the road and ripped through a couple’s front lawn.
Gerald Wintle says he was shovelling his driveway moments before a Nissan Altima came flying through his yard and ended up in his flowerbed.
“When I saw it coming, it shook me up,” said Wintle.
A few years ago, Wintle received a tree as a gift from his daughter, which he planted in the middle of his front yard. On Thursday, the tree was reduced to a stump after the car rammed into it.
“My daughter called me this afternoon and I said to her, ‘Tammy, the tree you got me is no longer,’” said Wintle.
The OPP told Global News that Wintle’s incident is under investigation and that the driver suffered minor injuries, and they are also urging the public to phone Napanee OPP at 1-888-310-1122 if they have any information regarding the Dec. 12 crash.
