Wingfield farm saga still fertile despite drought

From the start, the rural idyll of one Walt Wingfield, Bay Street stockbroker/ CEO-turned-gentleman farmer, was assailed with challenges.
Not least, of course, was Walt's own naivete, a source of much mirth to his canny neighbours in Persephone Township (RR1, Larkspur, Ont.) — as we know from the sextet of plays that the amazing Rod Beattie has, single-handedly, populated with vivid characters before now.
