Durham Regional Police say one person is dead and two others are injured following a serious head-on collision in Scugog Friday afternoon.
Police said the collision happened around 2:30 p.m., in the area of Island Road and Chandler Drive.
Police said a 61-year-old Toronto woman was pronounced dead on scene.
A 76-year-old man in the same vehicle was seriously injured and was taken to a trauma centre.

A 70-year-old Scugog woman in another vehicle suffered minor injuries.
There is no word on what caused the crash, but the area was seeing its first significant snowfall of the season at the time of the crash.
Roads in the area were closed for a number of hours as police investigated.
