A tale of transformation, the power of pooches and more on Focus Manitoba this week

Manitobans — both human and four-legged — share some inspiring stories this week on Focus Manitoba.

Sally Hull of Hull’s Haven Border Collie Rescue invites you into one of the shows she puts on for school kids in Manitoba. The display she calls “Yes I Can” features dogs with various disabilities and disadvantaged backgrounds displaying some amazing abilities – or at least a lot of persistence.

Glenn Ferguson was obese, unhealthy and miserable until an unkind word from someone at work sparked a desire to change. Four years later, he showed off his new form in a Winnipeg bodybuilding show.

Remember the excitement of that new pencil case at the start of the new year? These days, the tools at schools are getting a lot more high tech. Global’s Tamara Forlanski shows how far Manitoba schools have come — including the arrival recently of a “tech bus” full of new educational gadgets.
