Occupational Health and Safety is investigating a fatal worksite incident at a church in west Edmonton on Monday.
Emergency crews were called to Fusion Fellowship, a church near 153 Street and 101 Avenue, at around 2:30 p.m.
According to an OHS spokesperson, the man who died is believed to be 18 or 19 years old and was employed by WCR Roofing.
The company has been issued a stop-work order for the worksite where the incident occurred until OHS is satisfied the company has shown the work can be safely done.
A spokesperson said they could not say what led to the fatality but that an investigation is ongoing.
All work-related deaths in Alberta are investigated by OHS.
OHS officers remained on scene Monday afternoon and evening.
