Well we made it! It was rather blustery when we left Regina but cleared up in Saskatoon and was clear sailing from there. Hwy 16 was excellent.
It’s great having reporter Amanda Ferguson along. She once worked in Edmonton and knows her way around. A whole lot better than the gps lady.
We hooked up with Derek Meyers and assorted other media types at a well known establishment in the West Ed mall. The name starts with H and ends with S. People there give a hoot. Saw a few Rider players in the mall including Eddie Johnson and sidekick Stu Foord wearing his sunglasses at night. I also realized CJME sports night co host Jamie Nye is the slowest eater of all time. He ordered 10 wings and managed to polish off 8 in two hours. The toddler in his go cart ate faster than that. I guess his parents took him there to give him an early education.
I was at the West Champions breakfast this morning. It’s the only media availability today as practice was closed. I’ll have more on that while Derek talked to some players who were part of the 1997 Grey Cup which was also played in Edmonton. Talk to you tonight…
