Vees take Interior Division title

The Penticton Vees have clinched the BCHL Interior Division Championship title for the second year in a row with a win Thursday night over the West Kelowna Warriors.

The Vees lead the series 3 games to 1 going into the game in Penticton after losing Game 4 in overtime Tuesday night.

It was the Warriors who got on the board first with a second period goal from Reid Simmonds putting West kelowna ahead going in to the third frame.

But it only took 3 minutes for Penticton to score and even it up, Josh Blanchard tallied for his team sending the game into overtime.

Vees player James De Haas scored within the first couple of minutes of extra time giving his team their second consecutive Ryan Hatfield Memorial Trophy.
