TORONTO – Start ’em up! The Rolling Stones are hitting the road again — and stopping in Toronto next month.
The iconic British band are scheduled to play the Air Canada Centre on May 25. Tickets go on sale April 8.
“I hope that people come to the show and have a really great time,” singer Mick Jagger, 69, said in a video announcement posted online Wednesday, “because I know I’m going to.”
It’s the only Canadian date so far on the 50 and Counting tour, which includes nine cities in North America and two in the U.K.
More shows are likely to be added to the schedule.
“Everybody was a bit reluctant to say how keen they were to get back on the road,” said guitarist Ronnie Wood, 65.
“But you kind of knew it was bound to happen,” added guitarist Keith Richards, 69.
It’s not yet known if the band, which also includes drummer Charlie Watts, 71, will rehearse for the tour in Toronto as it has done in the past.
