A man and woman were shot and police scrambling to find a gunman still on the loose in a central Winnipeg neighbourhood Tuesday afternoon.
It happened at about 4:15 Tuesday in the Spence neighbourhood.
By late Tuesday officers confirmed that a shooting had taken place and that no arrests had been made.

But sources say a man was shot and critically injured, and a woman was shot and suffered less serious injuries. Witnesses saw the woman being carried by paramedics to a waiting ambulance.
Paramedics were performing CPR on the male victim as he was rushed to hospital.

Police officers and a police dog searched streets and back lanes in the area for suspects. Several people were seen running from the scene of the shooting.
There was no word from police what may have motivated the shooting.
