Officers responded to a report of shots fired inside Mamma’s Pizza along Mill Woods Road in southeast Edmonton just after 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. The suspect had fled before police arrived at the scene, where they found two wounded males.

The two were rushed to hospital. But about an hour after arriving there, 29 year-old Blair Michael Cunningham died of a gunshot wound. The other man, who police said is 31 years-old, remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It’s believed the gunfire erupted after an argument inside the restaurant escalated to an altercation between the four men, who investigators believe knew each other.
