Alleged bike thief caught on camera

Police say this man of interest was captured on video stealing a mountain bike inside a secured underground parking lot on Leon Avenue. RCMP

Police have released a photo of a suspected bike thief — hoping that the public can identify him.

Kelowna RCMP say video surveillance caught a man stealing a mountain bike on August 24th from a secured underground parking lot in the 700 block of Leon Avenue. Police say the man allegedly used force to gain entry into the parking lot.

“Once inside, it is alleged that the person of interest stole a black and green Norco Storm 7, men’s 18-speed mountain bike,” said Kelowna RCMP Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, of slim build, with short brown hair. He was seen wearing a black, long-sleeved sweater, a pair of grey shorts, a dark coloured backpack and dark coloured shoes.

Anyone with any information about this person is asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
