A family home in Abbotsford has caught on fire this afternoon.
At about one o’clock, fire crews were called to the home on Bevan Crescent, where a garage that had been converted into a room was fully engulfed in flames.

The fire was threatening to spread to a neighbouring home, prompting a resident next door to cool down his house with a hose until firefighters arrived.
Crews were able to contain the fire and stop it from spreading, but the damage was extensive.
No word on the cause.
