Saskatoon dive team searches for missing man in South Sask. river

SASKATOON – Water rescue teams are searching the South Saskatchewan River after a report of a missing man on Saturday afternoon.

Emergency crews were told a man entered the water around 3:20 p.m. leading to police air support and the water rescue team to be deployed.

Rescue divers are currently sweeping by the man’s presumed entry point on the west side of the river near Whiteswan Drive.

Fire officials say there are tracks leading up to the water with no apparent exit point.

The missing individual is described to be in his early 60s.
