The victim contacted police on Friday morning to say he had received a call from an unknown man, who told him his computer was compromised.

Police say the caller then gained remote access to the man’s computer, and that’s when the victim noticed that the caller was accessing his personal files and banking information, transferring $20,000 out of the man’s bank account.

Police are urging everyone to hang up the phone if you should receive such a call.
