The flight time for the daily Westjet flight from Kitchener to Calgary has returned to mid-afternoon.
A spokesperson for the company told Global News that passengers had informed Westjet that they preferred the new flight time.

“We heard from our guests that a daytime flight was most convenient and we are glad to be able to provide this to the community,” Westjet’s Lauren Stewart said via email.

She said the change was also designed to allow commuters better access to connecting flights in Calgary.

“WestJet adjusted the Waterloo/Calgary flight back to daytime to optimize connectivity from our Calgary hub where we currently offer 63 destinations,” she explained.
The daily flight will now leave Waterloo airport at 3:30 p.m rather than 6 a.m.

This is the third time since November 2017 that the airline changed the flight time.

Westjet is the only major airline which currently operates out of Waterloo Airport.
FlyGTA also offers daily service from Waterloo to Toronto.
