Travellers taking GO trains from Kitchener, Ont., to Georgetown may have noticed longer travel times this week, but Metrolinx says the inconvenience will be short-lived.
A Metrolinx spokesperson told Global News that the company is “conducting general track maintenance between Georgetown and Kitchener GO Stations, including upgrades to rails, switches and bridges. Customers may experience possible delays of up to 20 minutes all week.”

The work is being done with the future in mind, as Metrolinx plans to expand its train service in the Waterloo region.
“This work is part of our plans to increase future service levels along the Kitchener corridor,” the spokesperson wrote in an emailed statement.
