Intersection cameras catching red-light runners will now be working 24/7.
However, it will still be a few months before they will be catching any speeders.
B.C. Solicitor General Mike Farnworth said in March the cameras will not work like photo radar.
He bristled at the term when announcing the cameras would be used to nab speeders as well as those running reds.

The province will not be distributing excessive speeding tickets, but will be using the information gathered by the cameras to assess whether tickets are needed and how fast over the speed limit will trigger a violation.

B.C.’s 140 cameras had previously been running six hours a day.
In the fall, the government will announce the number and locations of cameras that will catch speeders.
