The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed Bryant Turner Jr. to a one-day contract Tuesday so the former defensive tackle could retire in blue and gold.

Turner was a Bomber for five seasons from 2011-2015. He appeared and started in 71 games with the Blue and Gold, recording 26 sacks, five forced fumbles and 75 total tackles.

He was released by the Bombers in 2016 and signed a one-year contract with the B.C. Lions.

“Bryant was a consummate professional both with his work on the field and his involvement in our community, and understood the importance of the organization in our province,” said Bombers general manager Kyle Walters.
