Environment Canada issues heat warning for the Maritimes

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for a majority of the Maritimes.

All of P.E.I., all of Nova Scotia and the majority of New Brunswick are now under the heat warning as a very warm airmass is scheduled to settle over the Maritimes this week.

The government agency says that the next period of very warm temperatures across the region will begin on Tuesday.

Temperatures on Tuesday could reach 30 C over inland areas before humidity levels push humidex values to 36 C or more.

Environment Canada says clouds and showers will move into the region on Thursday but the high temperatures and humidity will continue into the weekend.
