Suspicious death of Tony Vaillancourt is New Brunswick’s Crime Stoppers crime of the week

The New Brunswick RCMP continue to investigate the suspicious death last year of a 42-year-old man from Morell Siding, N.B.

Police say Tony Vaillancourt had not been in contact with friends or family since April 9, and was reported missing to the RCMP on May 6, 2017.

On Aug. 2, 2017, a body was recovered from the Saint John River close to Tobique Narrows, N.B., roughly 22 kilometres away from Morell Siding, N.B.

The Mounties say an autopsy and further investigation led them to positively identify the remains of Vaillancourt.

They have determined that the 42-year-old’s death was suspicious.

RCMP say they continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
