After two terms as a Peterborough city councillor, Dan McWilliams says he will not be seeking re-election.
“My decision is based on my desire to focus more of my time on my business and family interests,” McWilliams stated in a press release on Thursday.
McWilliams represented Otonabee Ward since 2010 and also served as deputy mayor.
He served on a number of committees including the Community Investment Grants Advisory Committee, Citizen Appointment Selection Committee, Boundary Committee and the City of Peterborough Holdings Inc.
McWilliams is currently vice-chairman of the Peterborough Police Services Board.

McWilliams says he’ll still keep tabs on municipal politics.
“I will continue to be a keen observer and advocate for the City of Peterborough.”
