Severe thunderstorms moved through parts of southern Ontario Thursday afternoon, causing strong winds, torrential downpours and hail.
The storms developed in warm and humid air ahead of a cold front which moved through this afternoon, Global News Chief Meteorologist Anthony Farnell said.
Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm watch for all of southern Ontario Thursday morning in anticipation of the storms.
Videos on social media showed hail falling in various areas, including Toronto, Hamilton, Brantford, Woodstock, Peel Region and York Region.
