As we approach the end of July, many people will be looking for that final summer road trip to embark on before cooler weather settles in.
While some may travel a great distance for a trip, it seems many Manitobans will be looking for a getaway closer to home.
“Many people think, well, why would I go to a visitor information centre in my own province? We’re actually seeing a lot more people do that,” said Colin Ferguson, president of Travel Manitoba.
“They’re looking for information on campgrounds, what can I do with the kids, what’s a one or two-day itinerary? It challenges our workers to come up with ideas for them.”
There is a location that people may be missing out on.
“There’s Steep Rock. A lot of people have heard about Steep Rock and actually never been to see it. It’s up Hwy. 6 and there are a lot of things along the highway to see and explore, ” Ferguson said.
