London woman charged with impaired driving, assaulting police officer in St. Thomas

Elgin County OPP are thanking the public after a tip about a suspected impaired driver led to an arrest.

Officers say it was around 8 p.m. Tuesday when they received the call reporting the driver who was said to be around Little Beach in Port Stanley.

The OPP says officers responded and found the vehicle on Sunset Road in St. Thomas.

As a result of the investigation, police say they’ve charged a 31-year-old London woman with impaired driving-related offences as well as assaulting a peace officer and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

Investigators say the woman was released and will appear in court on August 21, 2018 in St. Thomas.
