Edmundson, 25, was a restricted free agent and was scheduled to have an arbitration hearing on Wednesday. The defenceman instead opted for a one-year deal that will pay him $3 million. It’s a nice little raise from the $1.2 million he made last season in the final year of a two-year contract with St. Louis.

Edmundson has played the last three seasons with the Blues. He set new career highs in goals and points last season as he recorded seven goals and 10 assists in 69 games.

The Blues selected Edmundson in the second round, 46th overall in the 2011 NHL Draft.
