Easter Golfing for Lethbridge

Despite a snowy start to march, golf courses in sourthern Alberta are gearing up for the opening of the season this Easter weekend.

The snow and cold has delayed the opening of most courses in and around the Lethbridge.

“It’s been a little colder than we want it over night so we’ve been pushed back a few days from our original opening date” says Paradise Canyon Golf Resort head pro Matt Barkway, “typically we are open with about a week left in march”

But despite the delay, golfers are teeing up early compared to the rest of the province.  Our sun, chinooks and no snow attracts players from out of town wanting to get a head start on their swing.

“we won’t be open until mid or late april says Mike Maders who is a pro at a course in NW Calgary, “down here the golf course is going to be open so it’s a great chance to come out to get your game in tune for the season”
