“He spotted a fire in the area and stopped to see what was going on,” said MacLeod.
It was at this point, a projectile struck the bus and injured a female passenger.
“It impacted the window and both glass from the window and the projectile entered the bus,” he said.
The 23-year-old woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say they obtained a warrant and conducted a search of a residence on Vimy Avenue, as a result of the investigation. However, no one was home.
A man later turned himself in at police headquarters and was arrested. That man was released without charges.
MacLeod says police will not be releasing any more information on the type of projectile or where it came from because the investigation is ongoing.
